We’re proud to hear that Soi’s “Torvald und der Tannenbaum”, a special for German Broadcaster ZDF has been selected for Germany’s ”GoldenerSpatz”. The “Goldener Spatz”, Germany’s most prestigious Children’s Film Festival takes place biannually in Gera and Erfurt. The screenings of “Torvald” will be on April, 25th at 9.00 am in Gera, and on May, 5th at 9.00am in Erfurt.

The results for the official selection of the International Animated Film Festival in Annecy have been announced. We are proud to see that “Annie and Boo” by Soi’s represented director Johannes Weiland will be shown in the students’ competition. Soi’s 2004 short “Strasse der Spezialisten” will be screened within the panorama and “Torvald und der Tannenbaum” by Michael Sieber and Jakob Schuh can be seen in the TV-special section.

Studio Soi has started production on “TORVALD”, a 7min. Christmas-special about the smallest lumberjack in town, his wife, and the biggest Christmas tree on earth. Commissioned by German broadcaster ZDF, scripted by Marcus Sauermann, and co-directed by Michael Sieber and Jakob Schuh, the (classically animated) tale of love and height will be aired Christmas 2004.
