Great news from France: “A Morning Stroll” by our friends at studio aka (directed by lovely Grant Orchard) won the JUNIOR JURY AWARD for a shortfilm, Ben Bocquelet’s “The Amazing World of Gumball” was awarded with the CRYSTAL for BEST TV PRODUCTION for the episode “The Quest” and Studio Soi’s “Das Bild der Prinzessin” was crowned as BEST TV SPECIAL! Congratulations to the teams of all three projects!
For everyone in Germany: “Das Bild der Prinzessin” will premiere this weekend on KI.KA. Watch the film as part of the children’s series Siebenstein at 11:35 a.m. on Sunday, June 19th!
… to a new buildung at the Film- und Medienzentrum Ludwigsburg. The good thing is that our new server room has finally a direct telephone connection to local Energy Provider EnBW whenever rendering gets tricky.
On June 12th Soi’s director Jakob Schuh will be giving a talk on “the animator’s studios” at the Centre Bonlieu at this year’s international animation festival in Annecy.

Congratulation to Toby Genkel and his team for completing their trailer for the feature “Sandman” just in time for the Cartoon-Movie in Potsdam. Soi contributed the sets for the stop motion production.
Directors Saschka Unseld and Jakob Schuh gave a talk at the 9th Forum International des Technologies de l’Animation (FITA) in Anglouleme on December 7th entitled “Briefs, le processus du pitch et la vie en production au quotidien”.

Jakob and Saschka were honoured to be invited to present Studio Soi’s work at this year’s Pictoplasma Conference in Berlin from November 22nd to 25th.
The 14th KROK International Animated Film Festival took place from September 25th until October 6th on the cruiser “Taras Shevchenko” traveling from Odessa through Sevastopol, Yalta to Kyiv. Director Saschka Unseld was on board as well as Soi’s shortfilm “Oli’s Chance”.
“Olis Chance” will be shown at the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival, between August 5th and 9th in the Animation Theater.
We just finished work production of a 20’ commercial for ZEWA. Directors Jakob Schuh and Saschka Unseld worked on that clip together with agency Scholz and Friends, Berlin.
