WE’RE ON OUR WAY TO ANNECY

We will be at the Annecy Festival this year from Tuesday, 13th of June to Thursday. The feature film ‘La Sirène’ that we worked on will be shown as part of the long film competition. We are also currently recruiting for upcoming projects. Opportunities will become available in a variety of departments, including layout, digital 2D animation and clean up, 3D modeling and animation, compositing, pipeline, rigging and production. So if you are interested and would like to meet up at Annecy for a short chat, you can email us at work@studiosoi.de (please include Annecy in the subject line).

We’re looking forward to getting to know you!

THAT BLUE CAT

Last year we got the opportunity again to work with the characters that influenced our work life for more than 10 years. Cartoon Network asked us to work on brand new animation for a “The Amazing World of Gumball” clipshow. It was a pleasure to once again work with members of the original team! The Gumball chronicles are available on youtube now

AFTER A WEEK FULL OF ANIMATION…

(photography by Martin Zentner)

We are looking back upon a full week dedicated to the animated films at this year’s Festival of Animated Film in Stuttgart (ITFS). Besides the festival premiere of ‘Trude’s Tier’ (‘Trude’s Flatmate’) and several screenings of ‘Trolltag’ (‘The Troll Trap’), ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’  has been awarded with a Screenplay Trickstar for Best Children’s Animated Series. Klaus Morschheuser and Mathias Schreck attend the ceremony on behalf of Cartoon Network Europe. The Jury’s explanation: ‘We chose this film because of its highly original visual style, its whacky, energetic comedic timing and its heart-warming story that appeals to both kids and adults. Well done!’

Congratulations to the whole team!

GUMBALL II GOES BAFTA

The second season of ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’ is nominated in three categories at this year’s children’s BAFTA. Along with ‘Room on the Broom’ it is nominated in ‘Animation in 2013’. For this show we worked together with Cartoon Network on the episode ”A Glitch Is A Glitch’. We are prouuude.

ELMORE RISING

The 2D team will join us for the third season of ‘The Amazing World Of Gumball’ very soon. They will be followed by the rendering and compositing team later on. Many artists from last year will return, but there are also a bunch of new people coming to Ludwigsburg for the first time. While the veterans may remember people and events on this picture, the new guys can get a feeling for what the studio is like. We are eagerly awaiting your arrival. Group hug!
