Our short film“The Princess’ Painting” Is on TV again.  If you haven’t watched it, yet there is a chance to do so on Sunday, November 12th 2023 at 10:450 am on KiKA as part of the show “Rudis Rabenteuer”. Find more information about the film on our website.

PRINCESS PAINTING ON TV

TV show ‘Siebenstein’ is showing our shortfilm “The Princess’ Painting” this Sunday at 10:40 on Ki.Ka. The film was the awarded as best TV special in Annecy in 2011. If you haven’t managed to see it yet, this is an opportunity to finally do so. If you’d rather sleep in on Sunday or don’t happen to be in Germany, you could also watch it anytime on youtube.

PRINCESS’ PAINTING ON TV

Our short film from 2011 stars a spoiled princess who finds out that compassion and dedication give her more happiness than undeserved praise. CHICAGO, TEHRAN, TOKYO

At the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, our short film ‘Nearest and Dearest’ has been awarded with the 1st prize in the category ‘Children’s Jury Prize – Animated Television’ as well as the 2nd prize in the category ‘Adult Jury Prize – Animated Television Production’. ‘Princess’ Painting’ received the Diploma of Honor of the Rosh’d International Film Festival in Tehran. “PRINCESS PAINTING” IS GOING PLACES

Our shortfilm “Princess’ Painting”, directed by Klaus Morschheuser and Johannes Weiland, is being shown from West to East and is getting wonderful feedback: In Ottawa it was awarded as the Best Short Animation Made for Children, at the Chicago Film Fest it received the 1st Prize for an animated Television Production and at the famous Krok festival the film was awared “For creation of a story with nonintrusive morale”. Congratulation to the filmmakers and a hearty Thank You to all three juries!

​THE AMAZING WORLD OF ANNECY: AWARDS FOR “A MORNING STROLL” “GUMBALL” AND “PRINCESS’ PAINTING”

Great news from France: “A Morning Stroll” by our friends at studio aka (directed by lovely Grant Orchard) won the JUNIOR JURY AWARD for a shortfilm, Ben Bocquelet’s “The Amazing World of Gumball” was awarded with the CRYSTAL for BEST TV PRODUCTION for the episode “The Quest” and Studio Soi’s “Das Bild der Prinzessin” was crowned as BEST TV SPECIAL! Congratulations to the teams of all three projects!

For everyone in Germany: “Das Bild der Prinzessin” will premiere this weekend on KI.KA. Watch the film as part of the children’s series Siebenstein at 11:35 a.m. on Sunday, June 19th!

GOLDENER SPATZ

“Princess Painting” and the “Gruffalo” were very well received at the “Goldener Spatz” German Children’s Film and Media Festival in Erfurt and Gera. At the closing ceremony last Friday this lead to a special “award for innovation” for Studio Soi. Klaus Morschheuser and Jakob Schuh proudly accepted the award and felt very honored by the jury’s words:

FMX and ITFS have ended, and we had a blast meeting all you wonderful people and watching some fantastic programmes with you.

The „Princess’ Painting“ received a special mention by the children’s jury. We feel honored and are happy that the film could be screened various times throughout the festival.

ANNECY 2011

Two projects we’ve been involved in will be part of this year’s competition in Annecy: “The Amazing World of Gumball“, helmed by our friend Ben Bocquelet, will premiere an episode at the festival. Studio Soi was in charge of technical direction, modeling, rigging, parts of the rendering, layout as well as the title sequence. Our latest short film “Princess’ Painting” by directors Klaus Morschheuser and Johannes Weiland will be competing in the TV-special competition. Also this year in Annecy: Studio Aka’s latest short “A Morning Stroll“, directed by the always amazing Grant Orchard and “Daniel, une vie en Bouteille“, directed by our friend and collaborator Louis Tardivier.

PRINCESS’ PAINTING

After 10 months of production the very last frame of our new short “Princess Painting” was rendered yesterday. The film produced for German broadcaster ZDF was directed by Klaus Morschheuser and Johannes Weiland, written by Marcus Sauermann and designed by Uwe Heidschoetter. “Princess Painting” already has been chosen to be screened at Germany’s children’s film festival Goldener Spatz as well as the Trickfilmfest Stuttgart. So, come to Germany to be be one of the first to watch the fairytale about a spoiled, little princess and her ambitions as a painter.
