‘NEAREST AND DEAREST’ ABROAD

Participating in the pre-school category our shortfilm ‘Schrecken ohne Ende’ by Max Stöhr, Michael Sieber and Sandra Brandstätter was awarded at this year’s Japan Prize. Along with the ceremony the film will have its premiere on Japanese television as well – synchronised in Japanese! Domo arigato Nippon!

GUMBALL II GOES BAFTA

The second season of ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’ is nominated in three categories at this year’s children’s BAFTA. Along with ‘Room on the Broom’ it is nominated in ‘Animation in 2013’. Above that it will compete in the ‘BAFTA Kids’ Vote – Television in 2013′ and ‘Writer in 2013’ categories. ‘Adventure Time’  is also nominated in the ‘International in 2013′ category. For this show we worked together with Cartoon Network on the episode ”A Glitch Is A Glitch’. We are prouuude.

ELMORE RISING

The 2D team will join us for the third season of ‘The Amazing World Of Gumball’ very soon. They will be followed by the rendering and compositing team later on. Many artists from last year will return, but there are also a bunch of new people coming to Ludwigsburg for the first time. While the veterans may remember people and events on this picture, the new guys can get a feeling for what the studio is like. We are eagerly awaiting your arrival. Group hug!

CREATING BJÖRN

Here are some impressions of how the character ‘Björn’ from ‘Trolltag’ came to life. Sandra Brandstätter made the design, Klaus Morschheuser created the clay-model and Christian Höhn took care of the shading.

Thanks to the whole team for working with us on the film.

THIS SUNDAY IS TROLL DAY

A few weeks ago, we already posted a little teaser of our latest shortfilm by Klaus Morschheuser and Johannes Weiland. This Sunday, September 15th, ‘Trolltag’ (Troll Day) has its German TV premiere. It is part of the children’s TV show ‘Siebenstein’ starting at 10:35 on ZDF KIKA.

NEAREST AND DEAREST AT FANTOCHE

Choosen by a jury consiting of members of the children’s film-club ‘Die Zauberlaterne’, our shortfilm ‘Nearest and Dearest’ (Schrecken ohne Ende) will attend this year’s Fantoche in Baden/Switzerland.
It will be shown within the screening block ‘I, you, we…’ on Wednesday, September 4th at Kino Orient as well as on Saturday, September 7th at Kino Trafo 4.  Both screenings start at 16.15.
Director Max Stöhr will be in Baden as well, so if you spot him, give him a hug.

BURG KLEMPENOW

Our shortfilm ‘The Princess, the Prince and the green-eyed Dragon’ by Bin-Han To and Jakob Schuh will be shown at this year’s O-TONi Filmfestival for Children and Teenager in Breest, Germany. It will be part of the Animation Shortfilm section supported by AG Kurzfilm starting at 14:00 CET on August, 25th. If you pass by Burg Klempenow, you should consider to attend – a castle seems to be a proper location for watching a movie about a princess, a prince and a green-eyed Dragon.

SNEAK PEAK

Here are two pictures of one of our current projects. Directed by Johannes Weiland and Klaus Morschheuser, designed by Sandra Brandstätter, the film is about trials and tribulations of a girl, a mountaintop and a lion in a ballet tutu.

It will have its premiere this autumn within the ZDF kids series ‘Siebenstein’.

IIT’S ADVENTURE TIME!

If you are wondering whether we did anything else besides ‘Gumball’ and ‘Schrecken ohne Ende’ last year, the answer is yes! We were allowed to dip into the land of Ooo to create 3D Animations, Models and Rigs for the ‘Adventure Time’ Episode ‘The Glitch’.

Many thanks to our colleagues Tobias von Burkersroda, John Coomey, Mark Feller, Robert Lehman, Parzival Röthlein, Peter Ruschel, Jakob Schuh and Max Stöhr who worked on this project.

‘THE GRUFFALO’S CHILD’ LEARNS HOW TO CHIRP

If you attend this year’s ‘Goldener Spatz’ in Erfurt and Gera, you might want to take a chance watching ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’.

It will be screened twice within the category ‘Animation’. The first screening is on May, 28th at 15:30 at UCI 4 in Gera. The second one is on May, 30th at 11:15 at CineStar 4 in Erfurt.
